A double triumph: HANDELSBLATT awards “Best Tax Consultancy and Employer 2024”
The tax consultancy company Thomas Langer has won two prestigious HANDELSBLATT awards this year. It was named “Best Tax Consultant 2024” in the "Business Start-up" and “Media” categories and “Best Employer 2024”. Both honours underline the digital law firm's leading position in the German tax landscape and its outstanding employee orientation.
“For our team, these successes are a reward for hard work over a number of years to provide excellent tax advice in the truest sense of the word,” says the head of the firm, Thomas Langer, proudly. Based on their many years of client experience, the Berlin tax experts have specialised in start-ups, media companies and associations and are now one of the leading names in the capital.
“Best tax consultant 2024” award
The recognition is based on an extensive survey conducted by the Hamburg-based market research company SWI Finance, which was commissioned by HANDELSBLATT. Over 4,000 tax consultants and 800 auditors took part in the assessment, in which expertise, specialist knowledge and the employment of specialist consultants were decisive factors. All study participants first had to verify their qualifications. Their expertise was then assessed. For example, a law firm specialising in corporate succession was asked about the dry income problem, while a tax consultant specialising in private individuals had to explain what is relevant for tax purposes in the case of capital gains, gifts or rental income.
“Best Employer 2024” award
The tax firm also shone in the ranking of the best employers. Of the more than 1,200 participating tax firms from all over Germany, just 13 per cent (155 firms) achieved the necessary 70 points to be recognised. The evaluation, also organised by SWI Hamburg, covered five areas: “Digitalisation”, “Services and Benefits”, “Work-Life Balance”, “New Work” and “Development and Career”. “As a small company with a family atmosphere, team spirit is our top priority,” Thomas Langer points out. For this reason, we organise annual team trips, flexible working time models, numerous fitness offers and many further training opportunities to promote commitment and team spirit at the law firm based in Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt.
Formula: top working atmosphere + digitalisation
Both awards are doubly significant, as the challenges in almost all German tax firms remain high, according to another result of the SWI study. Extra tasks such as coronavirus aid or the effects of the property tax reform have largely been dealt with in recent years. Many companies are currently operating “on sight” as a result of high inflation, rising interest rates and capital shortages. This is making the world of tax consultancy even more fast-moving, fuelled by the dynamics of new technologies and regulatory changes. The Thomas Langer tax consultancy is prepared for this and will continue to rely on the formula “top working atmosphere + digitalisation” in the future in order to achieve the best possible results for its clients.
